Beck Schutte
Beck Schutte is a junior at Holy Cross in Worcester Massachusetts. I was recruited to join the AdaptX team after conducting research this Summer looking at barriers in fitness centers for people with disabilities. My roles include writing the Inclusion Standard Newsletter, proofreading educational materials, forming focus groups, reviewing podcast transcripts, and consulting with the expansion of Unified 5K series.
At Holy Cross I’m majoring in sociology and minoring in rhetoric and composition. My passion for accessibility started after interning with the Institute for Human Centered Design (IHCD) 2 summers ago. IHCD is a consulting firm that helps schools, businesses, hospitals, etc. improve their physical accessibility. As a braille reader who is legally blind, I feel a personal connection with this kind of work.
