Adam Bleakney

Adam is the wheelchair track coach at the University of Illinois, which has been named as a national training center for the Paralympic team. He coaches some of the best athletes in the world including Tatyana McFadden and Daniel Romanchuk. He has helped development curriculum for USATF, wounded veterans, and the UK Athletics Wheelchair track program. He has been involved in several research projects on the design of racing gloves and training equipment.

As an athlete, Adam was on the U.S. Paralympic Track and Field Team in Sydney and Athens, and won a silver medal in the 800m in Athens. He's won the Chicago Marathon, Nashville Marathon, Indianapolis Mini-Marathon and finished in the top three at a number of other road races. In September 2008, Bleakney competed in four races at his third Paralympic Games in Beijing, China.
